Democratic values as a component of the literary competence of the old schools
Abstract
Formation of democratic values is the basis of education yevopeyskoho citizen of a democratic society. According to the author, ingredients democratic upbringing should be formed also by means of literature. The article states that in the implementation of teaching Ukrainian literature in terms of its democratic foundations axiological emphasis becomes demokratychnotsinnisnyy component literary competence. The article defines the criteria and parameters on four levels (high, enough secondary and primary), indicating the formation of such a component literary competence seniors. In clarifying the status of the studied problems in school practice relied on modern democratic values, operating program of Ukrainian literature for grades 9–11, so-called indicators of formation of a competence. The results konstatuvalnoho experiment, which studied levels of demokratychnotsinnisnoho component literary competence seniors. The study covered students and teachers-language and literature of secondary schools graduates (first-year university students). During the experiment konstatuvalnoho obtained information on high school students an understanding of the concept of «democratic values», the ability to critically assess the implementation of the basic principles of democracy Ukraine at the present stage, properly navigate the difficult situation of civil society and make responsible decisions; to assess the possibilities of democratic education in the study of Ukrainian literature in school.
Developed methods konstatuvalnoho experiment that became the basis for determining the overall level of formation of democratic values in high school, identifying inconsistencies appointed process, clarification of internal and external conditions that affect its performance, studies the role of Ukrainian literature in shaping the democratic culture of students.
The article notes that the motive of democratic values is one of the leading novelists in the work of Ukrainian and reading each programmatic work of Ukrainian literature should lead students to confirm these values in society. Attention is drawn to the fact that by analyzing novels included in the public school curriculum of Ukrainian literature, modern scholars focus mainly on national and universal values. Therefore, there is need for an objective interpretation of the curriculum in terms of their novels demokratychnos.
