Abstract

The article deals with one of the important linguistic problems of functioning of dialectisms in the language of mass communication. Functional and stylistic possibilities of dialectal expressive vocabulary with pejorative value in mass media are investigated. It is noted that most often in nonfiction
texts we come across dialect vocabulary - names that are not known and are not used outside of a particular speech or group of related speeches. For this reason, dialect vocabulary usually has no correspondence in the literary language, and its realities and concepts, appraisals, expressive characteristics are either conveyed descriptively or denoted in the same words as in speech. the correlation of dialects with modern Ukrainian literary language has been identified. The actual material deals with the problems of semantics and expressiveness of dialect vocabulary; the theoretical foundations of the study of the vocabulary of territorial dialects related to expressiveness, emotionality, evaluation are substantiated; The role of connotative, denotative, and figurative macro components in the formation of expressive plans of dialect units has been clarified.

It is noted that dialectisms become not only markers of the individual style of the author, but also there is a popularization of speech intent with the help of non-standard vocabulary, the author of the publication emphasizes the uniqueness of the subject and the aesthetic correctness of its name, he Dialectisms as pejoratives in the language of mass media acknowledges that this dialecticism is concise, factually, better at dealing with
the nominative function than any description. Most often the dialect taken is explained in the text itself, the author of the publication tries to introduce an
unfamiliar word into the circle of linguoesthetic values. As a powerful public factor, mass communication contributes not only to the popularization of dialect vocabulary, which is a constituent of the substandard, but also to its consolidation in the Ukrainian literary language. Thus, the means of mass
communication, thanks to the inclusion of peroative dialectisms in the text, contribute to the specification of meanings, the development of new meanings in individual words, expansion, lexical connectivity, deepening of stylistic differentiation of words and expressions.
